I know there's been threads like this before, but I'm after ideas, somewhere for a week away, bit of scenery, not long-haul, nice restaurants, no hassles.
any ideas?
I'm coming up with nothing, it's like the world is foreign to me.

Been to rome, rimini and san marino already. Not so worried about heat, I'll sleep during the day.

Menorca!
have been looking at that, just not found a good deal at short notice. Went there years ago and seem to remember it was quite nice.

I think Norway may be a bit pricey. Anywhere that hits those criteria at the top will be fine, but also can't be arsed to drive.

South of France.
Get the high speed train from Paris to Marseilles and then on to Nimes.

flights to norway are fairly cheap with norwegian.no, otherwise yeah it's expensive. tis nice though and i'm not just saying that because i'm biased.
you'd be better off waiting until the schools are back in september, or is that what you're planning?
what about spain or france? nice weather, good food, not too expensive

can't go far wrong with edinburgh mate...cheap flights and Canon Court apartments good place to stay and maybe take in some of the fringe festival? easy to get around walking and on train and buses...
