More losses announced today.

The free commercial telly gravy train is well and truly over what with the choice offered by freeview and young people generally not watching as much telly. An increased output of cheap studio and reality telly shows mixed in with repeats it is then. Surely the BBC is more important than ever now when it comes to actually making British telly shows?

Personally I think this is the much delayed karma for cancelling Knightmare back in 1994. It's been a long mourning process but it looks like vengeance is coming.

I'm not sure I ever watch anything on ITV, other than football or the odd film on one of its sister channels.

Depressingly, I channel hopped onto E4 last night and caught the end of My Name Is Earl, the voice over at the end stated 'yet another repeat ofFriends coming up. If you're fed up of watching the same repeats all of the time why not use on demand to watch other classic shows?'

Nothing like airing them again instead is there?

This was always going to be the problem with the explosion of channels. More choice is not always a good thing, just means we now have 50-odd channels of shite (or about 450 if you have Sky) cos there's no money about to actually make programmes. Thanks Rupert. And ben's right - makes keeping the BBC "special" all the more important

ITV were said to be considering making ITV2-4 pay TV.

My question is, who the hell would pay for ITV1, let alone ITV2, 3, 4.

ITV did a good bit of business with Friends Reunited. Bought it for £167 million, sold it for £25 million.

Presumably anyone who considers their life not worth living without re-runs of Corrie and that Jordan/Andre thing. So, erm, corporate subscriptions from mental institutions would be their main target market

I used for the first time in years just the other day. Someone sent me a message to ask if my dads name was Pete (he is). I think I'm being stalked.

At last!

It was the BBC who gave them their first chance in Byker Grove, so it's the Beeb's fault.

That did make me laugh. FR, pre or post ITV stank of such arrogance to think people would continue to pay to use a cack site to contact old friends. When Facebook came to the fore and did more, better and for free it was ace watching FR's traffic dropping like a stone. No doubt Genes Reuntied and what other pointless spin offs they did are making an absolute killing.  Grin

I think I now only watch the Bill, and some football now on ITV. But look at the crap that's on in the day:

Jeremy Kyle show
This Morning
Loose Women
Some repeats
Soaps (Emmerdale and Corrie)

A lot to look forward to every day.
