Can people list some decent feature length documentarys please.

You know films such as Bowling for Columbine, Man on a Wire, Anvil: The Story of Anvil, Murderball etc.

Zeitgeist is superb. One of those internet only jobs, but it's ace. Zeitgeist 2 is good as well, but it kind of ruins it's message when it all goes a bit idealistic and Moby-like.

There was a BBC production about the mahoosive volcano at jellystone erupting, watched it on youtube and found it quite interesting.

I could think of others but they are likely more 'true stories' than documentaries.

I must get around to watching zeitgeist one time.

Any of the documentary series by Adam Curtis are good. Particularly The Century of The Self.

I quite like The King of Kong as recommended by someone in the films thread.

Jimi Hendrix has some great footage of his famous performances as well as commentaries by those who knew him.

If you like British Sea Power they re-released Man of Aran with their own musical score on top. It's very old footage though, from the 1930s and all caption card commentary (silent movie).

For some more music based documentary goodness check out the 3 part series The Hip Hop Years. Better still buy the book afterwards I found it all really interesting. It's not just about rap, it looks at the routes from the block party b-boy days through 80s hip hop, the daisy age and then eventually modern day rap. I think it's about 10 years old now.

Loads of good suggestions thus far, most of my favourites have been mentioned but I enjoyed...

Ramones - End Of The Century - Good film on the rise and end of the Ramones.

The Fog of War - It's a bit of a slog but Robert S. McNamara has a story to tell.

Mayor of the Sunset Strip - Really interesting story of Rodney Bingenheimer a nerdy Californian DJ who championed many big bands by playing them before anyone else Stateside.

Grizzly Man - The guy loves bears.

Biggie & Tupac - Most Nick Broomfield documentaries a decent viewing.
