Surely if it's in the balance it could go either way? You're a big ol' cricket pessimist Nah I've seen England fuck up test matches so often I almost expect it to happen all the time.

A draw is the best Australia can hope for and that would depend on if it rains for over a session tomorrow - if no more wickets go tonight
Sadly, I have to disagree with you there. All three results (win, lose, draw) are possible. The Aussies have batted their way back in to contention this afternoon. Unless we take at least 2 wickets before lunch tomorrow, I'm going to be very nervous indeed. For a neutral (which I'm not) - what a brilliant game of cricket. Twenty20 can whistle.

As a neutral 20/20 is more appealing to me.

Each to their own. But to my mind, that's a bit like saying you prefer penalty shoot outs to 90 mins of football. Twenty20 is a slogfest. Strategy, tactics, ebb & flow all take a back seat.

Thing is cricket has never been a sport i have enjoyed. 20/20 changed that and now i am even watching the ashes something many on here probably thought i would never do.

A very fair point. Can't argue with that.

20/20 is the glamour side of the game. But the real proper stuff is the test cricket which is exactly that. A 5 day test of all players both physically and mentally. Not to mention the strategy and the excitement that you can get at a business end of one. We've already seen 1 thrilling finish in Cardiff and I think (weather permitting) we'll get another one tomorrow.

I think the benefit of 20/20 is that it can pull in the interest of kids with its excitement - ergo getting young people in to Cricket. Once this interest is established some will then develop an interest in the more serious test side of the game.

Come on. Who's nervous this morning? This is one of the biggest days in Test cricket for a long time. Really could go either way. The knives are going to be out for Strauss if the Aussies pull this off...which would not be good for the rest of the series.

Quick wicket to break the partnership and I think we'll do it by tea, if these two last until lunch, or if there's rain I think we're in for trouble.

If the Aussies make 522 to win it'll be a magnificent achievement. I don't think England have bowled badly.
As the runs required reduces, the batsmen will get more nervous. Don't rate the rest of the batsmen so this is the key partnership

We've got a nearly new ball as well so hopefully an early breakthrough and a relaxing morning.
