Nadal has pulled out of Wimbledon, leaving Murray a clear run in his half of the draw.

I just did some quick maths and I reckon that if Murrary wins Wimbledon he'll become the world number 2 and a mere 5 points behind Nadal, it shouldn't matter what Federer does.

Exciting stuff. I'd love to see Murray win Wimbledon, miserable sweaty or not. It'd be even better if it was Federer he defeats to win, because then people won't be able to talk about getting lucky and what not. Although they will anyway. Smiley

Henman has left me so jaded with supporting British tennis that I'm not sure he's done enough to reverse it yet. I'll probably support him as long as he's not playing someone more interesting.

Shame about Nadal - it always slightly devalues the tournament wen the champion isn't there to defend his crown.  Would still be an amazing achievement - personally I don't think he'll win it this year.  Still not at his peak yet though - a much better natural tennis player and athlete than Henman ever was.

I think Murray will choke if he gets to the later rounds. They'll be too much pressure on him from the media and fans who probably expect him to get to the final now Nadal isn't playing. He's capable of doing it but Federer has done it so many times and he'll be ice cool. Can see him winning it again this year.

Murray probably should have won a grand slam by now, at minimum he should have made some more slam finals. He's in danger of going down the same route as Henman, always promising but never really delivering by winning a slam.

Not sure that he chokes, but I'd imagine it plays heavily on his mind that he hasn't won a slam yet. If he does then the flood gates could open, he'd quickly become established as the world number 2 and could easily take on Nadal.

I don't think he chokes he is just unfortunate that he has the two greatest players of not just his era but of all time to compete against. I get the impression Henman felt he had to win it to prove a point to britain where Murray could not give a fuck what the public think.

Murray great player yes, but he is also a cunt, when england were playing Portugal in the world cup he wore a portugal shirt when training. Also at the olympics he didn't give a shit playing for Great Britain and think he was out in the first round or pretty close to it? Maybe because he wasn't being paid who knows? Great player yes but wants to represent Scotland not Great Britian so with that said COME ON FEDERER
