I've noticed that some posters get cool nicknames under their usernames, and they don't seem to correspond to the number of posts they have. For instance, Batch still doesn't seem to have one, and have over 3,500 posts. I'm not asking for one, I'm enquiring about the logic of how they are granted.

I change them when I get bored. There was a period of a month or so when people could change there own, quite a few are left over from then.
