I love me Iphone... the camera isn't great, but i have an actual camera for that. I've never done MMS really, so don't miss that. The most irrtating thing about it is taht you cannot forward texts.

Totally agree!  That winds me up!

Ahh right fair enough. Will gain an edge if the camera is 5MP or more.

The rumour was that Apple had ordered a boat load of 3.2MP and 5MP camera's, the 3.2MP for the iPhone and 5MP for something else. But then there is also a rumour of a iPhone Nano and the iPod Nano getting a camera, so maybe the 5MP is for the iPhone. Who knows? Its going to be better and do video though.

There is a lot of cool new stuff in the OS v3 which has been confirmed, either by Apple or from the beta versions.

Depends what you want. Lots of the official apps are good - eBay, PayPal, Skype, FaceBook, Google.

I've got a shopping list app I use a lot - ShopShop. Flixster is good if you go to the cinema. Too many great games for free or under a £1, I normally just go through the best sellers every so often and buy a few - its not going to break the bank.

My favourite app though is Shazam - great for identifying songs quickly and accurately.

The Apple TV ad doesn't lie, there really is an app for everything and on the whole are dirt cheap.

Call me thick, but I've just read this whole thread and I don't really understand a word of it.  And it's not my age (I don't think!), I'm 25.

I still buy albums on CD.  I own and use a PlayStation 2.  I use grammar in text messages.  I think I need help.

Iphone 3.0 comes out in 2 weeks and you can upgrade any existing Iphone from www.iphoneunlockuk.com for a fee.

It has loads of new features inc all of the stuff that people have mentioned in the thread that existing Iphone does not.

Why would you pay? The upgrade is free if you've got an official contract, otherwise you can just jailbreak it.

Or am I missing something?

Just Google for something like "iphone jailbreak 2.2.1" or try http://blog.iphone-dev.org/. Looks like there are a few different versions dependent upon what you want to do (unlock and or jailbreak) - Yellowsnow, Quickpwn, Pwnage for example.

Pretty certain you'll find the sites charging you for it are just selling you someone else's hard work.

Be careful and read up on it first though just to make sure you know what you're doing. I've never done it myself as I've had no need to, though I've got an old 1st Gen I've been meaning to try it out on.

So as I have an existing I Phone contract, do I just plug it into Itunes to get the upgrade or do I need to log onto another website?

The deal I was offered (a friends & family staff offer through Carphone Warehouse) has been given away to someone else Sad

iTunes takes care of it - it will download the update and install it when you sync. It should have done it before, I doubt the latest release (2.2.1) has been pre-installed on any iPhones yet.

Cheers,  I know it syncs but anything more than that is a little alien to me!

Incidentally I have taken delivery of my fourth SE C905 today. Hopefully it lasts longer than a few days.
