I was there. I just didn't rate Hammond. He was useless at crosses and dodn't command his area. Whilst he was a good shot stopper he had this habit of putting the ball back into play instead of turning it around the post. This was good for strikers as they were facing the right way.
Its a shame as he was a decent geezer.
Seems to be making a very good career in the boardroom at Reading as well. Fair play. My abiding memory of him, I am sad to say, is that bloody awful clearance at Peterboro when we were 3-2 up which let Adcock score the equaliser.
