i never saw that model of the stratton bank. Looks prety cool though.
Wish they would sort something out for the new development.

I was there in the stratton bank v Villa. Only 13 at the time but was mad as fuck.
I remember at half time the biggest bloke i ever did see needed the loo and someone shouted "fat bastard coming through". Laughed my tits off. (well i thought it was funny as i was 13)

Great stuff. I'd almost forgotten what the shrivvy road looked like. I remember all the hooligans like Yeovil standing in that standing bit next to the stratton bank, very passionate support they created a great atmosphere.

Stand was shite compared to the nationwide stand though, I went to check on its progress a few times when they were building it but don't think I have any photos. Shame they never replaced the stratton bank.

A bit of information about the old Shrivenham Road stand (aka the Aldershot stand).
It wasn't actually standing for that long (I saw someone mention falling down over 50 years)
It was originally the main stand at Aldershot and was deconstructed, shoved on a lorry, driven to the CG and reconstructed  Shocked
It was actually constructed over the original concrete terrace which had always been there - so while the top bit was new-ish, the bottom bit was stood on by Harold Fleming's fans (and Reg  Soapy Tit Wank ) way back when...

The new bottom section of the Arkell's made such a difference when it went in - unfortunately the pitch was narrowed to fit it in  Sad
