There's a fair number of accountants/trainee accountants on here, which I didn't expect.  I nearly went down that route, did a year of CIMA but found it completely lacking in numbers which was the bit that interested me.

That's management accountancy for you!

Full title of your thesis? I'm not being funny, I'm just interested in what your original research was on.

Prediction of Fracture Toughness, Stress-Corrosion Cracking Thresholds, and Corrosion Fatigue Thresholds in Iron-Base Materials.

Just realized my Avatar is about fracture in iron and steel, that's scary.

Perhaps we should change the title of the forum to "65% graduates, 80% Bollocks" ?

I thought about doing an actuary course instead of going to university. The person who told me about it was one of the scariest people i've ever met though, and i chose against it.

My idea of higher education was having to walk up stairs to get to a lesson.

I got my courses mixed up, I never even came close to doing CIMA, I did ACCA.  I'd probably have stuck with CIMA a little longer, although either would eventually have seen me bail out in boredom.  Not that I'm knocking accountancy, just that it never ended up being what I;d expected.
