The no booze rule is stupid... obviously some people can't be trusted, but thats what the Feds are for

Anyone know who is running the corners around Lydiard Park?

They are going to feel serious heat this summer.

If they haven't got the muscle then they could lose it all.

They can't do it anyway. It's against Article 19 of the European Convention on Human Rights - The Right to get Shit Faced at Live Music Concerts/Festivals.

Here is another question for the experts: Do the acts actually sing live?

Maybe the acts miming is the loophole they needed to get round the booze thing.

I wish I could find the 48 cans of Kronebourg I buried at Lydiard last year

Someone in the comments section there raises the point that it says you wont be able to take drink in,  not that there will not be a bar inside

Snow Patrol are obviously going to sing live and Lily Allen will too, if they did book Britney she probably won't but lets hope they don't.

From what I understand they are correct. Looking at what some people have said on the Swindon Music Forum I get the impression they are not letting people who turn up with a load of cans or even any form of bottles (other than water) in. Yes that includes coke etc as well so if you're going to try and pull a fast one with vodka in a 2 litre bottle you might not be so lucky. There is nothing in that article to say that there will not be a beer tent. As far as we know there will be. Only problem is that you'll have to keep chipping off there between acts.

There is going to be a 'fringe' festival in the week leading up to the event, which should be good.

I wonder if there will be a local talent stage over the weekend. There are some damn fine acts in this fine town of ours.

Also; quite a lot of covers bands.

Exactly.  £3.50 a pint is more bareable when you've paid fuck all for a ticket
