So long as they don't put the price of coke up I'm fine.
Prices are to get slashed if you read/believe the Metro

The price fixing should help the pub industry. We are being skanked by the cheap booze in tescos etc. There is an argument at people staying home with cheap booze and fags due to the smoking ban etc. Pubs chiefs are meeting wtih Alistair Darling today re: the duty on booze which is killing the pub industry.
Another case, someone is Appealing to the high courts re: the smoking ban saying it is unlawful and goes against human rights etc.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7944334.stmI know drink, smoking , fatty foods is bad etc etc. But I will decide how and what to eat and drink. My dear old Grandad put his cock on the block in WW2 in Europe just so i could choose. So fuck off! Presumably you'd support the legalisation of all recreational drug use then?

Seems pretty sensible to me - its just trying to stop all the really cheap booze which I'd imagine is the cause of a lot of trouble and health issues. As long as they do it sensibly - maybe start with a low minimum price and see how it goes.

Interestingly, I'm going to Route 66 tomorrow - £1 a drink all night. Union Weds, £1.50 a snakebite, and the best of all.... Thursday at Chicago Rock, £12 all you can drink!
If this is stopped I'll be savage.

As an alternative the government could actually punish people properly for alcohol related violence and anti social behaviour. I dont always think that harsh punishment is the way to prevent crime, but in this case I really think it is. At least that way the people who are the real problem get punished as opposed to someone who wants to sit a home, mind his own business and get pissed. And as for the health angle, I'm sick of the government telling me to stop doing things because they are bad for my health. My body, my choice. I pay my taxes and so am entitled to use the NHS regardless of how fat or drunk i get.

What about my human rights as a non-smoker?Why should i have to inhale horrid disgusting smoke when i go out? So long as the price of tea and Hob-nobs doesn't go up i'll be fine

Under the law currently it is illegal to set up a private, members only smoking club which is wrong.
