Hovis crackers are rubbish, they taste of too much, crackers should be neutral.
i prefer water biscuits to standard crackers

You're the girl, you can arrange everything and your dad can pay, fB can do the rest of the catering. They look good.^^^^
Good luck with getting my dad to pay! FB can we have some smaller ones of those for canapes at the Stilton wedding on the year?

cheese is good with a bit of fresh crusty bread too. it shouldn't be limited to crackers.

A fair point, it's a different experience though, more of a 'sandwich' one than a 'pure cheese' one.

It's bread, with cheese, it's a sandwich.

not if it's one slice of bread with cheese (and perhaps other additional condiments such as chutneys and pickles) on top. if it were a sandwich, there would be another slice of bread on top

An 'open-faced' sandwich then. Which, of course, is oxymoronic.

I wouldn't call it a sandwich either. I'd call it bread and cheese.
If I'm having some crusty bread with brie then it tend to be about the same mass of cheese as bread in the combination,
