It's the wife's birthday on 30th May and we're planning on a night away somewhere, anytime from Sat 30th May to Sat 6th June. My original plan was to catch a gig in London and spend a couple of days seeing the sights, doing a bit of shopping etc. but the big gigs in London that week seem to be Britney Spears and Boyzone. I did see Lynrd Skynrd advertised but I don't think the missus would be up for that So, I'm after a few ideas of nice things to do, things to see, places to visit and a place to get our head down for one night (whether in London or elsewhere). Thankyou please.

Malmaison always a very good bet for hotels although can be a tad pricey depending on the rate you get. http://www.malmaison.com/the-hotels

I was in there a couple of years back...I'm surprised it's your scene JFW as I thought it a bit traditional...what with being a railway hotel and all. Shame you weren't there at the same time we could have swapped stories on railwayana.

Well, think it had been tarted up when I was there summer before last, but they'd obviously and quite rightly made a big effort to maintain something of its original feel

I googled for theatre and hotel breaks last year, got a lush hotel in the West End and seats at the front for about £120. Shame the show was Dirty Dancing. More Sippos sort of thing than mine..
