That it's all downhill from the age of 21? I turned 21 today, and the amount of people that have said "Say goodbye to havin fun" is incredible! Surely it's not all that bad? It's not as if 21 is old or anything!

Anyway, is anyone out in Swindon tonight or tomorrow night? If so, you can buy me a drink  Cool

Yes, it's all shit after 21.

I've had no fun at all in the last 23 years.

Ignore them. The best years are between 26 and 30ish easy. Assuming you've not done something daft like get married and have four kids.

Someone once told me it was all downhill from the age of 9.

(Well, actually they didn't.  But if they had done, it would have been just as daft.)

My view, which might be complete crap is

Spot on Lumps!!  25+ (to 30 ish) is the best time, as you realise what a complete tosser you and your friends were from 17-22ish.  25+ it all starts making a bit more sense and people tend to respect you a bit more.

18-24 you think you're having the best time but mid late 20's just get better and better!!

It's all bollocks. Doesn't matter what age you are, you can still have a great time.

I may not be doing all the things I did 20 odd years ago, but I still have a laugh and enjoy myself.

Age is only a barrier if you're hung up about it.

I was referring to going out having a pissed up whale of a time, from a socialising point of view.  I can't wait for the family/marriage bit of my life.  It's all good eh?

There's nothing worse than 30+ year old's, even tef ones, trying to keep up well past their best before dates. I refuse to shame myself in such a way, so when I hit 30 I will probably flash out on a giant drug binge whilst watching logan's run. Something worth considering.

There's no doubt that your view of the world changes as you get older...at 21, I didn't give a shit about anything much....could do shed loads of pharmaceuticals...and thought I could lead that sort of lifestyle ad infinitum.  I could just leave the bird I was with and go travelling, saying  Bye might see you later.

Many years later, I know it would be impossible to maintain that sort of life...you sift out the bits which you can still maintain, and accept the rest as an interesting part of the journey.

As Herthab says the key is to have a laugh and enjoy yourself....

A lot of aspects get a lot worse. You get more responsibility and if you fuck something up, it seems to have greater consequences because you've got things like work, houses and the such to look after.

That said if you're already working you won't find anything drastically different.

I thought you were younger PHIL!!!
