Those who use Thamesdown buses quite a lot will be a bit pissed off. Starting the 16th of February Thamesdown are increasing their prices

ADULT DAY RIDER Currently £3.00 (or £2.90 on stagecoach) going up to £3.20
MONTHLY PASS Currently £42.00 going up to £47.00

All prices below.

Absolute bloody rip off. Thamesdown are already sacking workers to save dosh, have a "no change" policy so they collect £25K extra a year I think the adver said and they still have the audacity to put the prices up.

And they can't even run buses in the bloody snow.

Oh by the way, the Day Rider is going up to £3.20 and not £4.20.

Sorry...  Just thinking as sad as it is for people to lose their job and the 25K a year more they get PLUS the reduction in fuel costs SHOULD be passed onto the customer.

So you lied about the price rise? Invalidated your point now gaz. I think you should be stretched by busses.

Not really as the point was, they make 25k a year extra which aren't even fares, a reduction in fuel costs and the punter gets shafted. Stagecoach day rider is £2.90 and is frozen at that price whilst Thamesdown put it up to £3.20, How does that work? Ok Thamesdown have all these silly bus signs sayingwhen a bus is arriving incase you can't read a timetable and add 10 minutes for it being late, as well as buses that talk to you now. Seems silly.

You shouldn't have lied though gaz. Or just admitted you made a mistake.

I'm not so much as pissed off it's going up 20p than relieved it's not going up £1.20. Good on Thamesdown I say.

I might be wrong, but stagecoach are a nationwide company, whereas thamesdown only serve swindon? Stagecoach can probably afford to have lower prices

In bus related news, you know how they always pull up at Fleming way, get everybody on and then the driver buggers off for a fag/change of drivers? (Smoking seems to be a condition of employment with Thamesdown)

Got an 18 yesterday, exactly that hapenned except we didn't get a replacement driver. Sat on this bus for about 20 minutes with the door shut and no driver, all having paid for the priviledge. Being British, nobody on the bus said a thing until a 19 pulled up behind us, loaded up and left again.

Eventually we got a whole new bus instead of a new driver thanks to some random chap who was cleaning up the buses. I know this has nothing to do with prices but ho hum.

That happened to me once! But someone just got up and pushed the button above the door and went and told another driver who went and got the driver who had 'forgotten he was meant to be driving the bus'!
