depends on where you are gonna be staying. I lived in a studenty part of cape town and loved it. Security issues are obvious but if you keep your wits about you, you will be fine. I managed to spend two years there staggering back shitfaced from the pub without getting mugged, yet met a backpacker who got mugged twice in a week. In my time there I also had my cash card stolen t a cashpoint and my car stolen! Card wasnt a problem as I spotted the distraction technique. Car was a bit more of a problem. But after that I was shown a nice little way of disabling the car in a non obvious way, and they are not goign to spend time looking under the bonnet to steal a car.
Basically, Fantastic place to live but like any city, keep your wits about you. Oh, and never use the K word!!!

Not sure what's going on yet, but come sometime at the end of the year, my job is either relocated to Hatfield (won't go there), Cape Town, or i'm off to the dole office.

Hatfield isn't all bad..after all signposts leaving London used to indicate Hatfield and the North. Clearly this put Hatfield on a par with the north. There used to be a band by the name, Hatfield and the North but they were a bit shit. |
