I've already got tomorrow off anyway. I'm just going to build snowmen and have snowball fights all day. Sure it won't be too cold for you

Good for you. I enjoyed staying at home in the warm with a cosy fire and bottle of wine

Had a challenging day today..left Swindon at 6.30 with 8 tonnes of Dulux paint to be delivered at Woking,Guildford,Fleet,Alton, and Basingstoke...leaving Swindon it was cold but an hour later the sun was up and it was a gorgeous day,but it couldnt last..Hampshire had it alot worse than us andbefore long the back end(of the lorry) was sliding..had that happen before but with paint being carried i had visions of me Glossing the road..got to my first drop i was a nervous wreck..the gates at Travis Perkins were shut ut the fella there was adamant he needed the paint..ive seen all this before he says..bit of snow and it all goes tits up,he grabs 4 pots of undercoat and the next thing i see is his two legs juggling and a pot of lime green repaint my back lights..i try to reasure him things are cool but he does his second impression of Michael Flatley and goes down again..by this time i cant breathe because of laughter then i do a Todd Carty and slide along at pace with a box of Poly filla..we both find sanctuary at last and we have a laugh after a quick Nescafe i get his signature and make a dash for the lorry,as i get in i check the paperwork for his signature..MATT Greenaway! I can honestly say it was one of the hardest days driving ive ever done...it was treacherous,i got home feeling like ive done 10 rounds of boxing.

Just got back from a 2nd gear 20mph skid to Tescos and back (working late and stuff needed for kids' lunchboxes tomorrow am ON PAIN OF DEATH) cos the gritters haven't been out this evening. And again, listening to the "Oh my God it's the end of the world, we're being invaded by little white flakey aliens" cretins on the radio, am struck by the thought "It's winter, it's cold, it snows. Get over it. You can still get to work/school/the shops if you drive/walk carefully, all this bollocks is being hyped up by lazy bastards who want an excuse to sag off." Send em all down the pits to dig extra coal for pensioners, that's what I say.

They claim they did, but that the snow froze on top of grit.

Grit job was terrible, and on roads where it wasn't icy, drivers were terrible. Results in me taking 75 minutes to get from Redhouse to Pipers Way.
