I'm a bit limited for choice out here, I am also a bit of a sausage roll fan but the Thai's idea of a sausage roll is literally a sausage in a roll which is not quite the same.
My kingdom for a Devon Savouries (Do they still have them there?)

Australian beef pies are the best pies in the world. FACT. Steak & Egg is the daddy. Everywhere in Oz seems to sell an amazing range of home made pies, they love them more than we do. Can't beat a Pork Pie for a quick snack outa the fridge. I usually just nuke em in the microwave so any jelly that be there is gone.

The fact that pork pies are quite unhealthy sort of takes the edge off them. I would probably enjoy eating them a lot more if I knew they weren't so unhealthy

I am not religious, but if I was I'd be god was having a laugh when he 'invented things'. Consider : Bacon v Quorn Fried Onions v Celery (ooh ahh) Pork Pies v carboard. The sooner you realise that unhealthy things are just 'better' the sooner food becomes pleasurable. Of course the slight disadvantage is higher riskk of heart disease and becoming a fat bastard.

Not sure Marie, the 'sludge' is surely just geletine, but without sugar, as far as I'm aware geletine has very little fat, so I'm unsure as to whether it would be unhealthy.
The pastry will be very fattening, whilst the pork bit will no doubt be made of reconstituted meat and will have all sorts in there - making that unhealthy too.
