Went up there for a stag do a couple of years back and it was superb.

Made the mistake of drinking far too much booze during the train journey up there on the Friday, which set the tone for the rest of the weekend (and it was a bank holiday). Very, very messy!! :beers

One thing I do remeber was that it was full of Hen and Stag groups.

I've got a map of the center somewher so I can let you know the names of some of the better bars we went to if it would help?

We are going to Blackpool on the 28th for my brothers stag do.  Can't wait, love the place although have not been for about 5 years on a weekender.  About 30 of us going, should be quality!

I have heard Newcastle is supposed to be quality also.

The boat is still up there, you can't miss it.  It's on the Gateshead side of the river but easy walking distance from the Quayside.  You really can't miss it.  Thursdays is the best night on it, very cheap drinks.  Newcastle's a great city and one of the few northern cities I'd like to live in.  Edinburgh would be the other.

The boat is basically a cheese club, but it depends what you are looking for.  Go to Quayside or Bigg Market for beers, top city, you'll love it Cheesy

Its mad as fuck. Thousands and thousands in the city centre on weekend nights. Binge Britain at its Biggest. Some of the bars are so full its difficult to enjoy yourself. Big groups can have problems getting into clubs, they can afford to be choosy with about a million Geordies on the street looking for a beer. On the bright side loads of hen night girls dressed up going mad.

Difficult to get accomodation, often difficult to get a drink. Most enjoyable nights Iv had up there have been midweek, with the students.
