Not a million miles from Didling and Cocking in Sussex are also Strood Green, Balls Cross and Lickfold.  Impressive.

Locally to me in South Yorkshire I've always liked:

Peniston, and
Blubberhouses

Whereas I'm not keen on:

Carsick,
and Deepsick

I've always been slightly frightened of:

Thurgoland

which despite being between Sheffield and Barnsley always makes me think of somewhere that would be visited by a small group of explorers led by Doug Mclure in a 60's adventure film losely based on a novel by Jules Verne or Edgar Rice Burroughs.

I'm not sure what a Thurgo is but I'm imagining something like the Morlocks in the original 1960's version of The Time Machine.

We have a Barton in the Beans and a Newton Burgoland up here.  I quite like Sheepy Magna, too.

You've got the "puddles" down Dorset way.

Tollpuddle (of martyr fame)
Affpuddle
Puddleton
and just up the road there's Troy Town.

Yatton Keynell (where my mum hails from) always gets a weird reaction when I mention that name. Yatton K is connected to Tiddlywink and not too far away from the village/hamlet/whatever of Shoe.

You must love Tollpuddle...have you ever been to the annual TUC sponsored festival?
