Loads of non league teams are having success against league oppo this year in the early rounds. Makes our loss to Histon look almost forgivable.

I can see there being a few shocks in the third round this year Eek

Although Droylsden beat Chesterfield last night, apparently the Bloods fielded an ineligible player and may not go through.  Angry

Good, serves them right. The player in question scored their goals.

Yup, obviously Chesterfield are the league team and should have won (lord, don't we know this), the ban was quoted to "begin from the 23rd" which says to me that he shouldn't have played.

Droylesden have acted like a bunch of knobs in this FA cup campaign. Their antics with Chesterfield should see them kicked out anyway.

What did they do? Did they switch the lights off?

About time we had a decent cup final. The last one that was any good was West Ham v Liverpool and I missed that as I was at Hampden watching Hearts beat Gretna in the Scottish version!

There wasn't a genuinely good final for, dare I say it, well over a decade before that Liverpool/West Ham match.

I'll c&p from another forum. Droylesden's manager sounds like a bit of a cunt really.

Quote
This fixture has now officially descended into farce!!!

First match at our place abandoned due to fog and if you listen to that little prick of a Droylsden manaer Dave Pace you`d think we ordered before kick off, rules state if ref can see both sides of pitch at kick off the game should go ahead, which he could,so we did!

At half time the fog had thickened and the game was then abandoned with Droylsden leading 1 - 0,nobody at fault, although we are the bigger club in the tie,we cannot control the weather, sorry you snivelling little wretch of a man Mr. Pace but that`s the way it is!!!!

Second match, again controversy won the day again, with the scores level at 1 - 1 Droylsden put the ball out of play due to one of their players down "injured" (as soon as the ball hit touch he was up again) from the resulting throw in Jack Lester chipped the keeper and the goal stood,I believe Lester was taking the piss and just wanted the keeper to panic and not actually score, only Lester knows the truth.
So in the tradition of sportsmanship our manager(Richardson) ordered the players to stand back and allow Droylsden to walk through and score.

Sportsmanship is something of an alien concept to the ever vocal Mr. Pace who in their first round match against Darlington refused to abandon the game whe a Darlington player recieved treatment for 30 minutes on the pitch for a suspected broken neck!!!

So onto last nights replay,at Droylsden,Chesterfield looked comfortable with a 2 - 0 lead when low and behold the floodlights failed on 72 minutes(first reported) which would mean the result stands on any abandonment after 70 minutes, since this the time has changed to 70 minutes which means game has to be replayed!!!!

The cause of the floodlight failure was apparently down to someone fixing an electrical fault in the bar, quite feasable in any other fixture but not in this one where the opposing manager seems to want to win by any means, and just one final thought,I`m no expert in electrics but all the time this was happening all the lights remained on in the bar where the fault was!!!
