Word 2008 Mail merge

When ever I mail merge from excel to word the date changes from dd/mm/yy to mm/dd/yy ie the amercain way when the word docuemnt finsished the mail merge anyone one know how to change this. Word 2008 by the way.

You need to add \@"dd/mm/yy" to your merge field so it'll read {MERGEFIELD "date" \@"dd/mm/yy"}
