well very interesting that originally the northern echo had this story up. http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/football/3988625.Newcastle_lose_Money/then changed it to this as rich has already put up earlier on in the thread http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/3988860.Newcastle_Academy_chief_linked_with_Swindon_post/so this must be the first time since i've supported swindon that we don't know who it is with less than 24 hours to go, which is quite an achievement for the board given that the internet makes it so much easier to find things out...or get things wrong very easily as we've found out. Somehow i just can't see fitton gambling on hockaday as he has never been a manager. Money has at least had some success being the main man. I'd welcome Hockaday though i just feel fitton would surely choose money over him. If money wanted to come that is??!!

Exactly. I'm not convinced Money has actually left Newcastle.
Probably because he hasnt. No proof anywhere. Thats not to say it wont happen tomorrow.

Talking to a mate earlier (no secret sauce and not my idea at all) and he suggested that maybe it's both, which would make a good deal of sense - maybe Hockaday as manager, fitting in with Watkins' description, and Money alongside, perhaps as DoF. Would fit with both seeming to be lined up, and would perhaps also explain why it's taken so long as it's obviously going to take longer to get the pieces lined up to fit. And why Money was being touted as nailed on a week or so ago and then suddenly it was three down to two - maybe Money was nailed on as DoF, but the three down to two was for the manager to work under/alongside him. Or maybe it's a load of old bollocks but I found it quite attractive as a theory, not least because it allows both Reg and Ed Hadwin to be right

Hockaday or Money, no problem with either of them. I think I would prefer DH.

So, today is surely the day we are told who are new manager is. Is it Money, is it Calderwood, is it Hockaday?
Just what can we expect!! And how long is this thread likely to be at the end of it!!

In fairness it would be a whole lot easier for Money to take over a team in the North East. If that was true.
Wasn't Hockaday interviewed last time or was that rumour?

I'll be seriously gutted if we lose out on Money and end up with Hockaday. And I don't give a fuck if that makes me of the same mindset as a thisis poster.

Seriously gutted? That's far worse than simply being gutted.
