Many years ago (about 1998) I used to run entertainments at a student union. I started booking people like mallet to appear at our Saturday night disco 'the big cheese'. Second time I booked him I left my assistant to run the night and was at home after a heavy afternoon drinking watching some I love 1989 type programme (featuring the simpering bespectacled goon) when Mallet rang me to get into the venue. That was a strange moment. I changed my number soon after.
I have to say in my dealings with him he was a perfectly nice well mannered and entertaining gentleman.
Mind you so would I be if I was being paid £1500 to dick around on stage for 20 minutes before selling 50 odd replica mallets at a £10 a time to crowds of young fit stude-ettes. But still there's far more annoying cunts than him.
