I am getting fed up waiting to received my bloody Guitar Hero World Tour band game. It was sent out over 9 days ago and I still haven't bloody received it. I have a code on my play.com order but it's not the same as a royalmail tracking code, digits are different?
We had things delivered to a different street before, and they bloody kept it. We only knew because the driver told us he left it in a green porch (we don't have one, but the street next to us does) With delivering chaps to much in a hurry to get things out and not signed, dump the package in the gardens/porch.
My Post man is slow, but at least he delivers letters to the right house.

Can you not phone Play and ask them to give you the tracking number? If they won't give it to you, ask them to track it themselves.
And yes, Royal Mail is shit. I had a parcel sent by Guaranteed Next Day on Saturday which should turn up by 1pm Monday which was actually delivered at 1.15pm yesterday when I was out. Wankers.

Can you get the sender to get a refund from RM and in turn refund you. You used to be able to if RM missed a guaranteed delivery without reason.

"Reason for late delivery: couldn't be arsed" -> no refund

Their union rep probably told them not to do it over a dispute about the brand of tea available in the canteen.
Our red comrades will not comprimise for anything less than PG tips aparantly. Death to the management scum!

you post in irony but infact hit the nail on the head.the reason the service is poorer nowadays is because of massive cut backs thrown onto the workforce by crozier and leighton.those fat cats award themselves huge bonuses on top of their multimillion pound salarys. when there is no royal mail-post office people will be moaning alot more than they are now.costs to send items will rocket. there are many reasons why the above package might not arrived, play could have fucked up.a temp worker could have nicked it.etc.etc. there are some idiots who dont do their jobs properly in every walk of life, but in general the royal mail offer superb value for money to the customer.

I've been given tracking numbers before which did not work on the website. I thought perhaps the sender had given me a different (non existent) code in error, but when the package arrived the tracking id matched the one the sender gave me. Defeats the object of tracking if you ask me.
What I do like about Royal Mail, is that if you're not in for a package and they take it to the depot, you can phone them and ask for it to be delivered on a saturday.

Call Trading Standards. They have a dedicated line for the Postal Service (as well as one for Gas and Electricity suppliers). That in itself tells its own story......
