Well next weekend I'm setting myself up for a massive fall, after just striking lucky in the ballot for Scotland tickets!

2000 Friday leave Swindon on National Express

0715 Saturday arrive in Glasgow

Breakfast then straight on it

1500 Watch Scotland v Norway at the cauldron that is Hampden Park

1700 Drink to celebrate/drown my sorrows

2230 Get back on National Express coach

0955 Sunday morning Arrive back in Swindon (possible with tail between my legs)

Sunday sleep it off.

Can't wait!

Shouldn't they save the Scotland tickets for actual Scottish Scotland fans?

No probs Ben!!

Nor v Scot is next August I think, STA is probably saving up for that one already - £5 a pint (if you're lucky) although there is one bar in Gronland area of Oslo that was selling pints for £3 when we were there last!

good fucking question. Supposed to be august 19th next year but FIFA in their infinite wisdom are trying to change the dates to the 12th. Nothings been confirmed yet though. So much for having an internation calender!

Isn't that a bit like saying you struck lucky and have to have your gall bladder out.
Seriously though, Best of luck. I shall be at Wembley watching the mighty England thrash Kazakhstan. Swindon have a chance of winning v Huddersfield as I've only been to 4 games this season and we've lost the lot. Maybe its not Aljofree and co - maybe its me.

Just out of interest, where will you be doing your drinking in Glasgow?

I remember doing something similar when I was at university.  Must have been in 1995.  Realising one Friday night that I had a spare weekend on my hands, I caught the coach up to London in time to get the midnight coach to Newcastle.  Arrived in Newcastle at 7am Saturday morning, beers, Metro to Sunderland, watched us lose and all but confirm a second successive relegation (in the rain on an open terrace...the conga figured somewhere which, in retrospect, was a bit camp), Metro back to Newcastle, more beer, late coach back to London where I arrived back at my girlfriend's flat in Hackney at 6am on Sunday.  As you can imagine, she was delighted to see me.

I have no idea where I'll be doing my drinking, hopefully I'll be going up with a Celtic mate who knows the city a little better than me, if not, I'm at the hands of fate, do I walk into the wrong kind of bar and live to regret it?

I'll be alright, I prefer Edinburgh to be honest, but Glasgow should be good next Sat!

I spent a few evenings in Ashton Lane in the West End a while back...great area.  I don't really know the South Side, but imagine it will be buzzing.

I was at that game; it was FREEZING and MISERABLE.... Happy memories eh!

Counting House on George square is open from 8am I think. Had breakfast in there the last time we were up. Bacon butty and a pint of Tennents for breakie! Ace!

Also took out £20 from deal or no deal after only putting in a £1! WOOOOOOOOO!
