I was reading the other day about the Aussie's "tired old Europe" view. It's a shame they feel that way as I personally think Europe is a great continent with so much to do and see. The way you can be in France and travel just an hour in a number of directions and then be in a place with a completely different culture amazes me. When I did some European travelling in the summer of 97 it really did make me think what a wonderful place Europe is.
Having said that I do find that I'm in awe of so many places I visit, whether it be Central America, Asia, New York, Australia, I think this planet's class!!

The Aussies I've met aren't like that, they come over here on a British passport, work like hell for a couple of years then go back to Australia and get a lovely house built, paid for by earning British pounds. Makes sense to me. I can't wait to go back to Australia flippin great place.

To be honest flash if you did I think you'd get laughed out the country. I honestly can't say that Britain is that great these days. This island is sinking imo.

Bit a flooding in the last 12 months, you don't need to be in Norfolk!! This country is now a joke, wish I moved out when I had the chance and everything was in place to do so.

I'm still working on my Mrs, I really do want to leave the country at some stage, some of the events that go on here really annoy me, especially politically. I will miss absolutely loads of things about this nation but I think the standard of life would be greater elsewhere.

Fucking hell, people. This country ain't perfect, but seriously, if you think it's that bad it's pretty easy to go somewhere else these days. Or you could even try to take an active role in improving the aspects of British life you deem to be so awful.
(Obviously we're stuck with the weather, I don't think there's anything anyone can do about that.)

Yes, I know, that's why I said I'd like to move abroad at some time in the near future. And when you consider family, it isn't that easy, especially when you have to consider your other half's family.

Sorry, although I was replying to your comment I didn't mean it to be personal. Obviously I can't relate to your or anyone else's individual circumstances. Always fancied living in Moscow myself, but cycling there would be terrifying and I couldn't give up cycling. Plus, my life is here, which is why I'm happy to stay in a country that really isn't that bad.
