Anyone got one? I use pop3 server for my emails and have just bought one being delivered tomorrow. Is the email easy to set up or should I just pay an IT guy?
PS - Will it change me work wise?!?! My mrs will go mental when im sending emails on holiday ha ha

It's easy as pie mate.
A POP3 address will be fine, you can have up to 10 of the buggers on one device.
All you should need is your email address and password. Fire the SIM card in and click on the envelope with an arrow and away you go, follow the instructions and you’ll be sorted in seconds.
Worst case scenario is it may ask you for your server details, which you can get from your email host or if you use Outlook you can find the details in there. Give us a PM if you need any help.
I presume you have subscribed to the BlackBerry service from your network operator, which is usually £15(ish) a month on top of your usual contract? You’ll need that to get email and Tinternet working otherwise you’re left with an expensive piece of plastic that only texts and calls.
From personal experience I love the bloody things. Great if you’re out and about a fair bit and away from your desk.
Only problem is if you get emails out of hours as the temptation is to reply straight away but you just need to switch off and leave stuff that can wait until the morning.

They're neat, I had one in the US but had to give it back. My missus hated it as I used to end up doing work at home at about 11pm.......

Ha dazza I sit up answering half teh night means I can answer and work away from laptop but I get what you mean. I went with Vodafone and paid £40 a month plus VAT for unlimited access and emails. I wont use it for calls or texts but think teh cost includied blackBerry service as thats all I asked it for. I will PM you if I ahve issues but seems simple from what you said.
Cheers fella

I have had one for 3 yrs mate and if I can be frank I am sick to death of it. To the point that I have gone out and bought a private mobile so I can turn the bloody thing off at weekends ! Having said that, this is not my own business. Yours is and in that respect will be an invaluable tool. Just please dont let it run your life Bud !

Definitely custard.....its just about the right time to pick them now, but it does vary from place to place and the type of blackberry....the OT cycle path is an excellent collecting place in Swindon. You ought to get your missus to cook one up.

I have to agree with Fred there be careful. I tend to always pick mine up when there's a new email but I can ignore it after hours unless it’s something urgent it as it’s not my work.
My mates Dad blew his marriage of god knows how many years because he simply couldn’t switch off from his work, which was his business.
As long as you can distinguish between what’s urgent and what can wait you’ll be fine. I was going to say use it as a mobile as well or you’ll get bored of carrying two phones but it’s not a bad idea keeping business and pleasure separate if it’s your own business and temptation is a click away.
Oh and blackberry and apple is by far the best.
