Need proper British icons out there... Agree though about the shoestring part. I can see it now, the building etc and all going way over budget so we have a really rubbish opening/closing ceremony etc... It seems like the games so far are aimed at 14 year old teenage girls
Not sure why Jimmy Page was there, I always thought he was a Brum boy. Don't know why they didn't save a bit and use Glitter, he's out that way isn't he?

He's a Londoner (as is Jones) - Plant is from Brum, as was Bonham. I think there are plenty of better things we could have done. As we know Beckham is too massive in Asia not to be used in some way.

Ronnie O'Sullivan should have been there.....China likes a bit of snooker. Chigwell is sort of London.

Have they announced what sports we will see in 2012?
Darts and snooker would be two good options in my opinion.

Darts would be mega....you've got archery, so why not darts. Snooker is too long and teh Americans would soon want just to have pool.

Maybe we should involve any sports that Barry Hearn is involved in?
Poker, pool, darts, fishing, ten pin bowling...
