Chimay - best beer in the world (possibly)

Edit:  Of course that does depend on whether you are a guzzler or a conniseur

Weirdly since InbBev took over Bud,  the biggest brewery in America is now Sam Adams - true fact. So all the real shite is foreign owned (or brewed in Canada).

The Boston Beer Company, which makes the Sam Adams brands actually do make quite a nice range of beers.

I don't think any of them are brewed in Boston anymore though oddly.

Something I learnt recently and now gains fact of the day status is that in Germany there is a beer purity law going back to the 1500's, whereby any beer brewed there can only contain yeast, water, hops and and barley. So no chemical preservatives or taste enhancers. Good.

I was talking to  German fella t'other night, who was drinking Carling, I expressed surprise given the above factoid that he could go near the stuff....he reckoned it OK. Weird...I tried to point him in the direction of proper beer, but he admitted it being just beyond him...I advised a bit of effort would lead to a rich reward.  I'll continue to work on it.

Well I can't tell you as I don't drink lager as a rule.

I can point you in the direction of several excellent micro brews - Bells Two Hearted Ale, Bells Oberon, Tuppers Hop Pocket, Breckenridge Small Batch 471 plus several others.

Sam Adams is OK at a push. Their Summer Ale is quite nice.

Also quite like Sierra Nevada too.

It doesn't matter how you dress it up, but you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear. Budweiser is, always has been and always will be - SHIT. So making a BBQ sauce with it is a recipe for disaster.

Now the JD sauce is something else. Commonly found on ribs etc. in TGI Fridays. Yummo.
Budweiser shit?
Hmm.. me thinks not
