Completely agree.  If you're gonna spend the whole fortnight just banging your new Mrs just book 14 nights at the holiday inn express in town and save yourself a fortune.  Then once you've had enough of that take her somewhere nice where you can both go and do a bit of sunbathing, site seeing and reading.

Its not about shagging its about spending time together as new husband and wife. When we go mon our holiday I sit there reading a book she'll go mad. I'd rather do stuff together like scuba diving. Not everyones cup of tea but doing something together.

Maybe i'm different as I don't get to spend much time with the better half.

If it's a novel you want rather than a text book, then John Paul McG Sartre's Roads to Freedom trilogy is rather fine.

Reading / letching at 18 year old hotties in the pool counts as spending time together, as long as she's sat next to you Cheesy

after running out of books, i was releived to find this in a hotel. how wrong i was. it was crap; more a combination of chemistry analogies and fashion than anything to do with football or thuggery.

Is that the one which caused a shit storm in America when it turned out that he hadn't actually lived through most of the things in the book? South Park did an episode based on it (what happened, not the book), but it's one of the weakest South Parks ever.

could be, theres a note at the start assuring that its true. the dentist who he claims did root canal surgery without anaesthetic deny it. i may do some research on his credibility later.

I'm sure there was a big scandal thing. Oprah had reccomended it in her book club and then got him on live telly and ripped into him about it being all made up. I think he tried to point out that it was still a good book, but she was having none of it.

Of course I might be getting confused with something else.

Turley a life changing book.

Yeah I liked this one...a sort of Camusesque parody of goalkeeping, cocaine snorting and  a steady decline into terminal insanity playing for an obscure non league football club.

Wild Swans by Jing Quang is a great read if you're interested in Chinese history cica Mao TseTung - ni fact its just a good read. Stephen Lawhead for a bit of historical fantasy is good as is JV Jones. For a bit of sci fi / fantasy then Edund Cooper and Jack Vance take some beating.
For football then both the Rogers and /Trollope biographies are good as is Clough. Stanley Matthews, Clough and Gazza -althuogh with the last you can guess the punchline in a few weeks / years time.
