40 career goals in about 240 matches...was in the lge 2 PFA team when at Wycombe....i would really like Betsy here.

I remember Betsy being one of those players that always seemd to "threaten". Maybe never really did produce but he panics defenders or keeps them busy, which would be a great addition to take some attention away from McNamee. I'd quite like those two on the wings in fact, with Nalis, Easton and Timlin battling it out for the central two places. Quite a decent midfield for this league I think.

I remmember Betsy playing for Barnsley on Sam Parkins debut. South stand were taking the piss shouting betsy in a high pitched note (even higher than usual). He looked OK that day. Wycombe were a class act that League Cup game and he was one of their best players.
Just a worry that he's had so many clubs. Lots of clubs spending money then letting him go after a year or two.
He would be much better than JPM though.

(just posted this on the rumours thread as I didn't notice this one  ) I'm guessing Joe Anyinsah of Preston - plays on both wings and played for Carlisle and Crewe last season. He's played only a few games for Preston since 2005 and I'd doubt he'd command a fee... I'm sure Betsy would. |

Betsy's the only one I can think of that is at a Championship club who was on loan at two League One clubs last season (Yeovil & Walsall). The adver article also suggests he could be available on a free which would suggest he's still under contract but they're looking to off-load.

From the BBC "The player is understood to have been on loan to two League One clubs last season, and can play on either wing or up front." Does Betsy play all three? Sounds more like one of the other two mentioned

Betsy used to play upfront, he did agaisnt us for Oldham I think. He's always caused up trouble anyway.
