I loved the RIAT, I was also in the air cadets which allowed me a kind of "Back stage" pass.
My favourite though was the Wroughton air tattoo which was made up of WWII planes, even better was that the flight path was directly over my Nan's back garden in Park Saaf.
Those summer days where ace, just chilling out sunbathing with a beer whilst watching formations of spitifres, hurricanes, mosquitos, meschermits (Sp), Lancasters ect flying overhead.
That's one of the few things that I miss about England.

Up the pub last night there was two blokes who had just flown in from Denmark, and two from Germany. Instead fo getting pissed up the pub they decided to get a flight home this morning (I think two of them only had Sat tickets and the other two had weekend tickets). That's the difference between the europeans and us, I'm sure if two brits had flown somewhere for an event and it got cancelled we'd make the most of it.

That is correct Batch. Crying shame too, especially as the weather hasn't been too bad both days, just the effects of Friday's downpour.

Or is that the difference between plane spotters and the rest of us?
