There's a small chance you missed the irony of Yeovil's post. Just a small chance mind.

There is no room for people like that in football whatever their tallent, and there he beat Dabo unconcious I'm sure no other team 'mates' will want to play with him through fear of the same, what will he do if someone tackles him badly on the pitch go and punch them out ?

Sack him and keep his registration so he can't play league football again.

"England did nothing in that World Cup, so why were they bringing books out? 'We got beat in the quarter-finals. I played like shit. Here's my book.' Who wants to read that?"

Hmmm, call me a cynic but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a hastily scribbled biography,  a heart wrenching serialisation of 'my prison agony: i'm sorry for what i done' in the News of the Screws or perhaps several appearances on some crap ITV show about 'soccers bad boys' (probably hosted by Danny Dyer) or a celebrity big brother in approx 6 months time.

I read yesterday that he had been sacked although I’m not sure where and it could well have been a red topped wank pamphlet.

Also interesting to read on the Beeb that Keegan had acted as a character witness on the previous court case and openly admitted had he been asked to provide a similar statement during his time at Man City he would have refused but stated that Barton had genuinely changed.

If you look at the origional CCTV of the first  case the pair of scallys are blatantly giving it the old verbals to start with and while the law doesn’t view that as a valid excuse for a kicking to be honest in a lot of peoples books in the same circumstances Barton would be well justified by his actions.

Far too many mouthy little shits out there that get away with acting without consequence and a few years back a slap would have put them off but these days they see themselves as untouchable and with the advent of CCTV anyone acting out of turn is nailed hook line and sinker.

At the end of the day he’s done his time and deserves as much criticism and abuse on the terraces as thrown at him but with the likes of Lee Hughes back in the game Barton by contrast is almost angelic and should be at least given the opportunity to get his head down and resurrect his life and career.

Dazzza, this is an experienced pro not a young trainee...hes lucky compared to Hughes,Hughes was put away for 4 long years and deserved to be,You couldnt ask for a better man manager than Pearce and Barton just abuses the very lucky position in life he has...we all fuk up in life at times but it wares a bit thin when that same person just wont make an effort to change....the real shame is that England could really do with a player like him in midfield.
