Severe student skintness

Student loans comes in.
Week later I've spend it
- rent
- drinking
- bills
- food.

So anyone got any ideas how I can make some quick cash. Student hardship grant is a guranteed £150+ but as I've spent nearly £300 in a week and a half how am I gonna keep my awesome life style going?

Getting a job looks like a good idea on paper but in reality it's just shit. I came to uni so I didn't have to worry about working for 3 years.

Got my 21st birthday at end of may so should get some money for that.. but then I'll need some (at least £100) of that for glasto.

Argh... please don't make me work

Part time bar or retail work is not a bad way to go.

Avoid the student bars where most of your mates drink and go for the places that tend to take off during the weekend.  That way you can still enjoy the benefits of the regular Student nights in the week and earn some decent cash and probably a fair few beers during the weekend.

Other one I'd recommend is working in a decent clothes store where you normally shop.  Couple of days a week and it's beer money plus you will probably get a tasty uniform allowance from sock and a decent staff discount.

Isn't the law changing so donors wont be anonoymous anymore? Who is going to donate now (£17.50 seems pretty meagre for the trouble it will cause you later on in life) knowing that you'll probably have a bunch of young adults knocking on your door in a few years to see their "daddy"? :shock:

might be up for bar work, but it's difficult to get without bar experience in exeter.. and the old 'I've seen loads of pints poured' doesn't tend to work to well.

Also my mates would come and take the piss. and I can't think of anything worse than knowing all your mates are out having a good time while you are stuck serving loads of exeter farmers cider, while at the same time you ain't aloud to drink. Although I suppose if I ain't got any money it beats sitting at home
