Andy Nicholas was on trial at Salisbury but (apparently) wanted more to play for them than he was on at Swindon. Apparently he wasn't any better than they already had anyway.

too many matches all in a row plus having to work every Sundays means no time to see friends etc etc

I think there are tickets still available.
Ground is a trek from the station, 30 mins ish maybe more.
Pubs wise, not sure if the Midland does (next to the station) but think it did last year. Everyone was out in the sun anyway so could be why.
