Everything else about my ipod is fine, it works all well and good....its just very tempremental as to why it will actually connect to the laptop which makes updating it.....annoying as hell!

is the error message a windows one or an itunes one?

if the usb port is failing to recognise the device, it might be the drivers.

yup. or if your dad's ipod is different, it might be a case of two sets of drivers clashing.

Went to a Queen tribute concert last night, brilliant night spoilt by a drunken party a couple of rows back who thought they could sing!!  Unfortunately they couildn't sing and had an even worse sense of timing!!One of them eventually got onto the stage and tried singing with "Freddy" before getting thrown out.

Haha, sounds like a bit of a twat. We had a Queen tribute band at uni way back at the start of the year. Twas a mighty fine night!

Had a good night last night - first time I've been out in ages what with exams! Felt a bit rough this morning though - I blame the Albanian cherry liquor! It was nothing a 6 inch meatball marinara couldn't sort out though!
