...anyway the money on offer there is crap

Not for a first job in IT with no experience though.

Hell yes, for a first IT job you do not want to be going into a school, you want to be going into an office where you are likely to learn and gain experience from the more experienced techies, and they are prepared to send you on courses to help you learn.

Who says you wouldn't learn in a school based techie role? Anyway, the way I see it is they're offering a fairly good salary without the applicant needing specific experience or qualifications. For a similar salary in an 'office' based role I'd bet you'd need a minimum of 12 months experience and all sorts of specific qualifications.

Good lad, that role is good pay considering my techie is only on £14k.

Depends what your future prospects are going to be. I've only just got myself onto average graduate salary and I graduated 2 years ago. However, by the time I qualify (if I ever do) I will be earning more than double what I started on.

yes that it true, but i dont think i'd be able to cope with anything remotley less than what im on, obviously if they said we'll start you on 15,000 and after a year it wil be 30,000 then yes' id jump at that offer.
