My mate was telling me about a game he played on Sunday night with a group of friends. He got down to the last two and got 7,3 off suit, the other fella had 7,K suited. My mate, having a shit hand, checked expecting to get raised but the other fella checked as well. Flop comes out; 7,3,A. Now having two pair, my mate bet big and the other fella thinking he had an ok hand with pocket 7s raised. My mate re-raised, other fella goes all in. Turn was something shit like a 9, at this point my mate's thinking he's won the £160 pot when a K comes out on the river. At this point my mate lost it and knocked the pot stack all over the table what rules are you playing?? if your dude checked pre flop, how could he get raised? also, after the flop, if your mate has bet, then been raised, he's not allowed to re-raise, he can only call or fold... and then the other dude raises again with his all in?? that's about 4 rounds of betting. baffling.

Yeah generally in heads up the small blind should have the button so you can't check preflop and get raised because the big blind acts last. Very occasionally, like in party poker cash games the big blind acts first heads up but I hate that way of doing it, the big blind has too much of an advantage.
There's unlimited rounds of betting in no limit though, as long as someone raises rather than just calls you can keep on raising until someone's all in (typically unless you're making tiny fish style min raises it only takes a couple of raises to get all in though, especially in tournaments with high blinds)

Yeah I know. I think that's what pissed me off. I was low on chips and was bored. He still shouldn't have called.

Yeah. I've been up about an hour. That's a good time for breakfast.
I'm less hungover and more still drunk. If that makes sense.

toast is shit.
I'm worried that I may have shamed myself last night. I've tried ringing my friend dan but he's not answering his phone. He had an interview at 10am. I hope he made it. The drinking fool.
