Who,he was a young Frenchman who died on the last day of fighting the Germans in the liberation of Paris,only 19 years old.While on a visit to Paris last week i came across a small plaque on the wall outside our hotel,the small bunch of flowers got my attention,i thaught what his family must have gone through,while everyone else was celebrating the freedom of Paris,he would have been 83 if hed lived untill now,ime not being morbid because i had a great 4 days in Paris,but just for a while it got me thinking what a waste of so many lives,and when you walk round Paris now,like London,it dosnt seem like it happened only 60 years ago.

There would have been no need to liberate Paris if they hadn't saluted Hitler as he waltzed in down the Champs Elysees and instead put up a bit of fight...

Although I know what you're saying I don't really think it was possible for the french army to stop the blitzkrieg, they came from an "impossible" route and took them by surprise.  Credit where credit's due that Hitler knew how to invade countries.

My Great Grandad was in part responsible for things like that. He backed Hitler as a French ambassador. Or something like that...
