I wonder if they have thought about selling tickets on a direct debit basis? Such as £20 a month, perhaps we could sell even more doing it that way?

Thats what i thought, i mean they could stick a little charge extra on top for the privelige but it saves having to fork out 100 quid or so at a time.

To be honest if you cant muster £230 over the course of the close season, (payable in 2 installments!)  then you are clearly too poor to be getting a season ticket

Not really colin I have 3-4 mates who have a holiday to pay for and then have to obviously save spending money etc along with other commitments it could prove costly.

Would that be compatible with the club potentially raising the price if 6,000 aren't sold?

Also, the club is guaranteed its money if you pay up front...or in two installments. If people's bank accounts are closed would that mean they'd be able to get to all the remaining games without paying further installments?

These are genuine questions rather than a counter argument - I'm no expert so I'm not sure exactly if/how direct debits work in such a situation!

Surely the club would have a record of payment, if you miss a payment you cant use the ticket until the debt is recovered? Or something along those lines maybe.

i disagree.a direct debit monthly payment would attract a few more imo,and alot would find that easier.

i dont think they will get anywhere near 6000 myself

DD monthly payments create a considerable admin overhead/potential debt collection problem which is why in the past it was always farmed out and essentially it became a private finance deal - ie you bought your season ticket, the credit company fronted the dosh for you, then you had a private loan (at pretty uncompetitive rates) deal between you and the finance company. Which meant you paid more and the club lost out as it had to shell out for service fees to the loan co for every ticket sold

Just pretend the season hasn't finished & put the £20 a fortnight into a savings account. After 14 weeks which is about August the first you would have £140 FOR THE FIRST INSTALLMENT. Then a further 12 weeks later you have the second installment.
I don't see a DD as being much better than that.
