I have a job interview next week for an accounting role and they have told me that part of the interview would be Microsoft Excel based exercise. I was wondering if anybody else had an activity like this in an interview and if so what sort of thing them have you doing?

I have had one or two.  It was usually really basic stuff like contructing a spreadsheet from data.  Sort it, filtering it, vlookup, sumif and last but not least pivot tables.  All at a basic level though.  If you know how to do all of that you should be sorted.

I had this for an interview a while ago, it was Word / Excel / XP and it was all basic stuff not to go into great depth, but for accounting it may be different though.....

I had to do a Numerical and a Verbal test for a job interview... Bit different though.
