I drank a bit too much, and ended up trying to get into my brothers bed. With my brother in it  :| And i've got work soon, i don't feel to good.

Quick question for you old town dwellers, is the rolleston any good? We were going to go there for a few last night but my mate said it was a gay pub and so we didn't. Was he talking bullshit? Answers on a postcard.

He was talking the bullshit. Fringing it on the Old Town claimage though.

I thought so. There were quite a few bearded monsters there though, so probably a good thing we didn't go in.

Does it not count as old town either? Learn something new everyday

being that it's on the hill bit of swindon known as old town and next to town it'd be pretty strange to claim it was

Got back from London at 10.30 had half a pint in The Flag and got a cab home.  I think im under the thumb, this is a sad dayGot a new house coming on at 12.30 tho and tenants looking at 12.45, would be a tidy sum for half an hours work if I get the deal done so prob best im not hanging
Ralphy called me at 12.45am singing

Coffee. That's what I need. I've already drank a pot of tea. Time to step it up.

Essentially the Boroughs of Old Swindon and New Swindon were entirely separate, until amalgamation in 1900....North Street markd the northern edge of Old Swindon...Clifton Street the western edge.

The area to the south down Marlborough Road towards the old cattle market was called Lower Town

Going east....the old houses clustered around Christ Church on the top of the hill and dropping down Little London, delineate the boundary.  Drove Road was as its name suggests a drovers lane to take animals to market..

After the merger of Councils the name Old Town became used for what had been Old Swindon.
