I know where they are Ardilles, just hoping for a bit of guidance as to a good one!! In Cricklade there are two, one always seems empty and one is usually very busy. Why the difference? Anybody know? Prefer to get a good butcher in Swindon though! My mate is originally from Cricklade. The busy one is the best he's been to apparently. I think that one is a Crumps as well isn't it? Their pork, red pepper and chilli sausages are the best....

the butchers in wootton bassett meant to be a good un. Yep. Good stuff from there. The farmers market at the Outlet is good; most of the stuff is local and there is a supplier who is just outside Bassett that you can order stuff from (Vowley Farm) Cutting day is Thursdays There is a good butcher in Marlborough as well (just by the Town Hall) but depends on how far you want to go - I go for the farmers market once a month and browse the butchers later on.

Mike McGuire's is good enough, in Swindon town centre, he does a lovely BBQ selection! Havelock Square I think it's located.

Stupid I know but thats the way it is... Its pretty simple. Just go up to the fish counter and ask for a piece of fish. Job done. Just had some nice Sea Bass from Morrisons tonight.

Its not that simple in my mind im afraid.I'll play these situations over in my head to the point of a tizz. What sort of fish. What size. Will i end up with a huge fish that i cant afford. How will I cook it Do i ask for the head to be cut off. Do i ask for it to be gutted. The scenario becomes more complicated the more I think about it.

the butchers in wootton bassett meant to be a good un. Agreed! We get most of our meat from there actually and it is always superb!!! Whether its a Sunday joint, sausages or pies its great. Think Mr Crump himself passed away a year or two ago which is sad. He often went and watched te cricket at Goatacre and was held in high regard. Basically Corporal Jones from Dad's Army, just without the war stuff
