Thinking it was a rat I jumped out of my skin and prepared to boot the fucker as far away as I could.

I trod on a rat when I was running in Bath a few months back. I just saw a flash of something coming out of the undergrowth, felt my right foot land strangely like I'd trod on something big, heard a loud squeek and something splashed into the canal. I think it survived. I barely did. |

Oi, rats are cool.
I had a pet rat once, he used to come to the pub with me and sit in my pocket all night. Sticking his head out hoping to be fed crisps and stuff.
He was ace.
