Surely if you take out the 'shit hole estates', you're left with a shabby, poorly-functioning and ugly town centre.  I agree that there are far worse places than Swindon...but it really could be so much better than it is.

Swindon is just dull, not really a proper shit hole in my opinion.  Not on the scale of spome of the others mentioned that I have been to

Although if you increased the unemployment rate from virtually nil to 20% it would turn into one in about 10 minutes.
