I think you have to either have done or watched some training and sparring firsthand to truly appreciate boxing. The fitness required is unbelievable and the technical and strategic element is a  substantial part in the process of kicking the shit out of one another.

It’s always a shame when you get the likes of Mayweather throwing away his and the sports credibility by doing something like WWE and the pre-fight conferences are cringeworthy but not that far removed from the pantomime that a lot of the Premiership gaffers play out through the media.

I have to admit the ritual of watching the fight with a few beers and a bit of cash on the side is a cracking evening or early morning pastime.

Calzaghe's speed and power will be lost in the step up, could be a struggle for him, and a terrible fight to watch.

How do you lose power by stepping up a weight? Calzaghe has already stated that he struggled at the lower weight and now feels stronger.
The speed of a punch has a hell of a lot to do with the power of a punch by stepping up a weight he will be losing a bit of his speed and accuracy.Fwiw i dont thing it will make the difference in this fight the difference will be the amount of punches calzaghe gives out.

ah but you have to give a months notice!  I am sure they'll cut us off just before the fight starts.  Cunts

If that happens you get a kicking.

If you had a brain you'd have told me to wait until Monday to cancel.

I'm not sure whether to stay up for this or set the alarm and get up early. I'll probably miss the the whole thing either way..
