Giving up caffeine

Fuck this is hard.

I've only been doing it for a couple of days and my body is craving for it. I've gone completely cold turkey, from 10+ cups of tea & coffee a day to no caffeine at all.

I feel like shit, I've got a headache and I'm getting twitchy. Apparently it can take up to 2 months to feel the full effects of giving up caffeine.

at my old job people were addicted to Diet coke - some used to drink 5 or 6 cans of it a day -  I was actually suprised how addictive it was - when they tried to cut down or give up they were like wild animals!

Having problems with sleep and general lethargy, weird as it sounds too much caffeine can actually slow you down and make you tired.

I've started drinking decaff in the evenings and cutting down on the coffee I drink at work (which is caffeinated). I used to drink 12-15 cups of coffee a day, mainly because I like coffee, more than the caffeine.

I think I drink about 6 cups (maximum) a day of regular coffee at the moment.

I'd rather shoot myself in the face than give up tea. Coffee I go trough stages of drinking fuck loads but then my desire for it seems to switch of for a few weeks, maybe a month. Then it switches back on and I'll go back to drinking a fuck load.

you can get decaf tea...

Roibos (Red tea) is naturally decaf and taste nicer than your PG tips or whatever your usual tipple is

my nan always used to have a cup of coffee before bed.never could work that out?

why not just reduce the caffeine intake sam. then cut bit by bit

Additions are not easy to give up, but didnt think coffee would be hard!

I gave up smoking the same way, just completely stopped one day and haven't smoked since.

If I can do it for that I think I can do it the same for caffeine.

Ive been drinking alot of the options hot chocolates recently

They are only 40 calories so Ive been trying to have one of those rather than having a whole bar or choc in the afternoons

they are full of E numbers though!

and most boys dont like hot choc anyway

so this is a bit of a pointless post
