I would like someone to invent some kind of transporter like from the film The Fly. I hate travelling when hungover so that would take out the headaches.

Hopefully some sort of medical thing. 'Cures' for uncurable diseases or a way to reverse paralysis.

There's loads of stuff that needs to be invented. Wireless power should be coming soon so phones etc. charge automatically and you don't need any power wires, that'll be quite useful. There must be a lot more that could be done about food preservation, having to freeze and defrost things just seems very basic. Surely it is possible to invent some kind of vacuum freezer where you just put stuff in and take it out whenever you want and it's preserved perfectly without any need to defrost it. Not forgetting my idea for inflatable Christmas, that was a pretty good invention - should be coming soon. http://www.thetownend.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=115&highlight=inflatable+christmas

Perpetual motion/energy? Cold Fusion? Major cures thanks to Stem Cell research? I feel the last is the only perceivable possibility as things stand, although haven't people recently come quite close to cold fusion?

I feel the last is the only perceivable possibility as things stand, although haven't people recently come quite close to cold fusion? Perpetual motion/energy breaks known laws of physics, sort of by it's definition. You still seem to get some crackpot who's decided he's invented a crazy never stopping wheel every now and again. They normally involve magnets. Cold Fusion is possible. I'd have thought as an oil crisis looms closer and closer over the next several decades more and more research will be done into such things. Stem Cell research could easily be halted by crazy religious types. Crazy might be a bit harsh, especially as their seems to be so much misinformation out there. The problem is it's easier to protest against something than protest in favour of something. I suppose you could protest against the protesters, but then we might start some mad civil war.
